- He told reporters Monday that massacres in Bucha were a "deliberate campaign to kill, to torture, to rape."
- Ukrainian forces Sunday blamed Russia for nearly 300 deaths in Bucha during their occupation.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Russians of a "deliberate campaign" to commit atrocities against Ukrainian civilians in the town of Bucha, where journalists and Ukrainian authorities have documented bodies in the streets.
The events in Bucha were a "deliberate campaign to kill, to torture, to rape, to commit atrocities. The reports are more than credible. The evidence is there for the world to see," Blinken told reporters, according to Washington Post reporter John Hudson.
Ukrainian forces alleged Russia killed 300 civilians in Bucha while Putin's forces occupied in the city.
Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk told AFP News Sunday that they had buried 280 corpses in mass graves since the start of the Russian occupation. Russia first invaded Ukraine on February 24.
Russia denied any wrongdoing in Bucha, claiming without evidence that the images of the atrocities against civilians were fake.
